How To : Install VMware Player 6.0.0 on Your Ubuntu/Linux Mint System

VMware Player has reached to its latest version which is version 6.0.0 and in this article we will see how VMware Player 6.0.0 is installed on an Ubuntu/Linux Mint System.

VMware Player 6.0.0 Installation

To install VMware Player 6.0.0 in any Ubuntu/Linux Mint system, you need to install some dependencies using following command:

sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-'uname -r'

 

For 32-bit Operating Systems:

mkdir ~/VMware

cd ~/VMware

Download the archive from the source using following command:

wget -c http://goo.gl/QTHVtv -O VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.i386.bundle.tar

Unzip the archive using following command:

tar -xvf VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.i386.bundle.tar

Make the file executable with following command:

chmod +x VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.i386.bundle

Run the Executable to begin the installation:

sudo sh VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.i386.bundle

 

For 64-bit Operating Systems:

mkdir ~/VMware

cd ~/VMware

Download the archive from the source using following command:

wget -c http://goo.gl/JpvULv -O VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.x86_64.bundle.tar

Unzip the archive using following command:

tar -xvf VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.x86_64.bundle.tar

Make the file executable using following command:

chmod +x VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.x86_64.bundle

Run the executable to begin the installation:

sudo sh VMware-Player-6.0.0-1295980.x86_64.bundle

And continue with the installation procedure.
